On the evening of September 18, Russian aircraft carried out a strike on Sumy using guided aerial bombs. One of the bombs struck a multi-story residential building.
As a result of the attack, a married couple who worked for the Sumy City Council were killed at the scene – a 52-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman. Their 7-year-old son was rescued from beneath the rubble by rescuers and is currently in the intensive care unit.
In total, ten people sustained injuries, including three children. Five of those injured were hospitalized.
In addition, the enemy airstrike damaged more than 30 civilian vehicles and blew out nearly 500 windows in three apartment buildings and an educational institution.
