Ternopil region recovers after a massive Russian strike, Ukraine

On 1 May, the Ternopil region was hit by one of the largest Russian aerial attacks. The regional center — the city of Ternopil — was targeted by 36 attack drones.

The main strike hit industrial and civilian infrastructure. Emergency services managed to extinguish fires at the impact sites. Power lines were also damaged, leaving part of the city temporarily without electricity. Emergency crews are continuing to deal with the aftermath.

Despite the intensity of the attack, there were no fatalities among civilians.

In total, twelve people were injured. One of the victims, who had been in critical condition, has been stabilized by doctors. Six others with moderate and minor injuries remain under medical supervision.
