On August 2, Russian troops carried out two waves of strikes with guided aerial bombs on the city. Over the course of one and a half hours, enemy aircraft launched eight guided aerial bombs at the city.
A 71-year-old woman was killed in the shelling, while another 21 people sustained injuries of varying severity. Private homes, apartment buildings, and warehouse facilities were damaged.
The first wave of attacks took place at around 16:30. The strikes hit a residential neighborhood of private homes. Rescuers recovered two women from the rubble of one of the destroyed houses. One of them died from her injuries, while the other was hospitalized in critical condition. Other injured residents received medical assistance at the scene.
At around 18:00, Russians launched another attack on a residential neighborhood in a different district of the regional center, injuring more than 10 people. One of the strikes also hit a warehouse complex.
