During the night of April 24, Russian forces launched yet another massive attack on Kyiv. The enemy used various types of weapons — cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as “Shahed” kamikaze drones. At least 45 drones were recorded heading toward the Kyiv region.
The heaviest destruction occurred in the Holosiivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, and Obolonskyi districts of the capital. The strikes and falling debris caused numerous fires in residential and non-residential buildings, garage cooperatives, and warehouse facilities. Some buildings were destroyed, and people remain trapped under the rubble — rescue operations are ongoing.
A particularly dire situation unfolded in the Sviatoshynskyi district, where residential buildings were damaged and numerous cars caught fire. In the Holosiivskyi district, explosions caused fires in garages and damaged an administrative building. In the Obolonskyi district, warehouses caught fire, and at least nine vehicles were burned. Several districts also suffered damage to civilian infrastructure.
As a result of the attack, nine people were killed, including 2 children, and more than 70 others sustained injuries of varying degrees. Among the victims are children. All the injured are receiving medical assistance in city hospitals.
Rescue services, medical personnel, and municipal crews are working at the scenes of the tragedies. All necessary measures are being taken to eliminate the consequences of the massive strike and to assist the residents.
