On May 6, the Russian army launched 20 Heran-2 strike drones, targeting the Shevchenkivskyi, Kyivskyi, and Industrial districts of the city.
One of the main targets was Kharkiv’s largest market — Barabashovo. As a result of the strike, a large-scale fire broke out, covering an area of 500 m², destroying around 20 trade pavilions and damaging about 80 others.
In the Kyivskyi district, enemy shelling caused a fire on the territory of a hotel and restaurant complex, affecting an area of nearly 700m2.
In the Kholodnohirskyi district, residential houses and civilian vehicles were damaged. Four civilians — three men and a woman— were injured. All of them received medical assistance at the scene.
Units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the National Police, medical crews, volunteers, and municipal services are working at the sites of the strikes.
