In the morning of December 20, the occupiers launched massive shelling on the city with artillery and multiple rocket launchers. Residential areas, critical and social infrastructure of the city came under enemy fire. Two medical facilities were also damaged.
As of 8:00 a.m., one resident has been confirmed dead, and nine others injured. The total number of casualties is still being clarified.
According to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups attempted to advance toward Kherson but were immediately neutralized by Ukrainian defenders.
All operational services, including medical teams, rescuers, law enforcement, and public utility workers, are responding at the attack sites.
