On March 1 at approximately 1:20 p.m., Russian forces shelled a residential area in the Korabelnyi district of the city with artillery. The shells exploded near the entrance of a multi-story building, where people were present at the time.
Two elderly women were killed instantly as a result of their injuries. Two other residents – an 85-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man – sustained severe blast injuries and multiple shrapnel wounds. They were taken to the hospital, but doctors were unable to save their lives. Both victims died in intensive care.
Emergency services are currently continuing to eliminate the consequences of yet another Russian terrorist attack and to document the damage.
