Occupants attack Zaporizhzhia with kamikaze drones

At night Russians attacked Zaporizhzhia region with “shaheds”. Two people, a man and a woman, were killed immediately. After the shelling, four victims were taken to the hospital: 

  • a 86-year-old woman in serious condition due to burns over 54% of her body;
  • a 59-year-old man in moderate condition;
  •  two women, 30 and 56 years old are with minor injuries. 

Unfortunately, the elderly woman who suffered severe burns died in the afternoon. Doctors fought for her life for several hours, but could not save her.

Thus, the number of victims of this attack increased to three.

The injured man remains in the hospital with a fractured limb. Two other women refused form further hospitalization after receiving medical treatment.

Twelve multi-storey buildings were damaged as a result of the Russian night attack – windows, balconies, and loggias were smashed. More than twenty private houses were also damaged. Two private houses were fully destroyed. The inspection of the houses is ongoing.

City services are eliminating the consequences of the hostile shelling. The city’s specialized emergency rescue service, Zaporizhremservice, Titan, and ELUASH utility companies are involved.

The utility workers are covering the broken windows with OSB, dismantling the rubble, cleaning and removing construction waste and garbage. Volunteers from Dobrobat also help. 

City council tents are set up on the ground. Representatives of district administrations and the social protection department register information about damaged housing and counsel people.
