Due to a massive Russian attack on the energy system, the Dnipropetrovsk region is in complete blackout, Ukraine

The Dnipropetrovsk region continues to deal with the aftermath of large-scale damage to energy infrastructure facilities. As a result of a targeted attack on January 7, the occupiers damaged a critically important facility that supplied electricity to most districts of the region.

As of January 8, the region remains in an active phase of emergency response to the nighttime shelling, with all relevant services involved. Energy workers have managed to partially restore electricity supply; however, the extent of the damage remains significant. Specialists are working around the clock in an intensified mood.

Despite the difficult situation, the region’s social infrastructure continues to function. Currently, 80% of hospitals in the region are supplied with electricity and are receiving patients as usual, while other facilities are operating on backup power.

Utility services have also managed to fully stabilize the wastewater system and restore water supply to the majority of consumers. In the residential sector, the restoration of heat supply is proceeding gradually, in line with the stabilization of voltage in the power grids.

To support the civilian population, more than 1,500 Points of Invincibility and heating tents have been deployed across the region. In addition to the public sector, private businesses have joined the recovery efforts, enabling approximately 40% of mobile operator networks to be powered via generators.

Nearly 1,500 police officers, more than 570 State Emergency Service rescuers, and over 300 units of specialized equipment have been deployed to address the consequences of the attack and maintain public order.

In settlements where warning systems are not operating due to power outages, police patrols are informing residents of air raid alerts via loudspeakers and are also regulating traffic at hazardous sections of roads.

Additionally, rescue teams from the frontline Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions have arrived to assist Dnipropetrovsk region.

Despite systematic attempts by the Russian aggressor to destabilize the situation and terrorize local residents, the Dnipropetrovsk region continues to operate and promptly restore everything destroyed by the invaders.
