How the Russian occupiers are fighting Ukrainian educators in Kherson region

More than 80 per cent of educational institutions on the right bank of the Kherson region have come under attack by Russian occupation forces.

In total, 357 schools, kindergartens, out-of-school institutions, specialized schools, vocational schools, pre-university, and higher education institutions were destroyed or damaged by enemy shelling in the liberated settlements

Russian troops also continue to target children. Since the de-occupation of the right bank of the Kherson region, the occupiers have killed 11 children and injured 116 others.

Due to destroyed schools and the threat of Russian strikes, almost 58,000 schoolchildren in the Kherson region are forced to study remotely.

However, on 2 September, three schools and one kindergarten will begin operating in a mixed form of education. Two more schools will open their doors soon after the repair work is completed.

Arout 500 children will finally sit down at their desks. And for 50 first-graders, the first lesson will take place in a classroom, not behind a computer monitor.

We are also continuing to restore educational facilities damaged by Russian strikes. Current repairs have already been carried out in 6 kindergartens and 7 schools.
