Russian occupying forces continue to terrorize the civilians of the Pokrovsk urban community.
On the morning of April 5, 2024, around 3 a.m., the Russian occupying forces attacked the city of Pokrovsk using S-300 ballistic missiles.
As a result of the missile attack, six apartment buildings and 17 private houses were damaged. Five people, including one 14-year-old child, sustained injuries of varying severity. Fortunately, there were no fatalities.
In addition, one of the city’s utility companies was directly affected by the attack. School buses and vehicles donated to the community by international donors as humanitarian aid were also damaged.
Community leaders are on site, emergency services are operational to inspect damaged buildings and assist residents.
Humanitarian organizations are helping the residents of Pokrov recover after the shelling.
In particular, representatives of the Proliska Humanitarian Mission, with support of the UNHCR, delivered 75 warm blankets to the city for the residents of damaged houses.
Inspectors of the Committee of Self-Organization of the Population are also involved in issuing aid, they assess the needs of affected residents and form applications for providing support.
Efforts to address the aftermath of the enemy attack are ongoing.
