On March 24 at approximately 4 p.m., Russian occupying forces attacked Lviv and the surrounding region with “Shahed” type drones.
As a result of the attack, 26 people were injured, all of whom have been hospitalized with injuries of varying severity. Fires broke out in the city, and significant damage to civilian infrastructure was recorded.
In the centre of Lviv, a residential building was damaged that is an architectural landmark and part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Bernardine Monastery complex was also damaged, with part of the complex and the tower of St. Andrew’s Church affected.
Another strike was recorded in the Sykhiv district, where a nine-story residential building was damaged after being hit from two sides.
In total, dozens of buildings were damaged across the city, and more than 1,300 windows were shattered. Some residents have been temporarily relocated.
Emergency services are continuing to deal with the consequences of the attack.
